The dates have been set for the 2012 Seneca Shipyard Days Festival! This year’s festival will be held Wednesday, June 20th through Saturday, June 23rd 2012. Be sure to mark your calendar and check back as our schedule and entertainment line up will be posted soon!

Seneca Prairie Shipyard Cruise Night 2011

Stop down and see the Seneca Festival Committee tonight when we host the beer garden during the 2011 Seneca Prairie Shipyard Cruise Night! We will be opening up at 4:30pm and we’ve got Granite Rock lined up to rock the beer tent tonight! We hope to see you there it’s going to be a beautiful night filled with cool cars, trucks, motorcycles, tractors, and so much more! Come out for the fun!

Antique Fire Truck Ride Lands At Seneca Shipyard Days For 2 Nights For A Cause

The Seneca Fire Department will be having a fundraising event by giving antique fire truck rides for only $2 on Wednesday, June 22nd from 5pm-8pm and again on Saturday June 25th from 4pm to 8pm. All proceeds will go to the Susan Barkowski Benefit Fund. Your support will be greatly appreciated!

Seneca FFA 75th Anniversary Presentation Cancelled

Due to circumstances beyond our control the Seneca FFA has had to cancel their 75th Anniversary Presentation and Display on Saturday, June 25th. We apologize and hope you will still come downtown and visit us at the beer garden and Taste of Seneca!

Just Added! Hogan Grain Elevator Tours!

We have just been informed that we are adding exclusive tours of the Hogan Grain Elevator (Armour’s Warehouse) which is the last standing grain elevator on the nostalgic Illinois & Michigan Canal. This grain elevator is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and you can see it for yourself! Tours will be on Saturday, June 25th from 10AM to 12PM. Come and see a great piece of history!

Fireworks Show Returning To This Year’s Festival!

Thanks to some last minute generous donations, the Seneca Shipyard Days Committee is proud to announce that the fireworks show will return to this year’s festival! The fireworks show will take place on Saturday, June 25th at dusk and will be visible from the downtown area by the Beer Garden and Taste of Seneca. The Shipyard Days Committee extends their greatest thanks to the sponsors that made it possible for us to bring the fireworks back to the festival!

We are having our informational food vendor meeting on Wednesday, April 6th at 6pm at Seneca Village Hall (340 N. Cash St.), but the requests are already pouring in for some great food vendors for the “Taste of Seneca”. This year is going to have more food choice than ever and we will be sure to update the “Food” section of the website as we finalize our food vendors. Get ready for some good eatin’!

Local Talent on “Family Night”

On Wednesday, June 22nd we have an alcohol free “Family Night” with a Wecomeburger and Ice Cream Social. This year we’re introducing “Battle of the Seneca Bands” where local Seneca teen bands will provide entertainment for our festival goers. So far we have “Prom Queens”, “Saints of Rebellion”, “Granite Rock” and “Nature’s Abstract”. If you are a member of a Seneca teen band or know of one please let them know we want all Seneca teen bands involved and please contact us! It’s wristband night at the carnival midway too and you can’t beat that!
